Throughout the calendar year, Glenhyrst stages annual events, special events and artist events to help build awareness and support of the art gallery and the arts in our community. The Gallery's annual fundraising events include the popular A Taste of Glenhyrst and Beaujolais Nouveau et Arts. Special Events occur at various points through the year and may include Appraisal Days or Bus Trips. Artist Events is a two-fold category offering opportunities to artists for professional development and networking to programmes by artists/art professionals including lectures and artist talks.

Thangka Painters in the Cottage

Though the monks from Tibet were unable to visit from India as scheduled (read more, above), we have opened the Cottage gallery to an exhibition of Thangka paintings and photographs of a recent visit to the monastery in India and to the Dalai Lama. In addition to the Thangka paintings, the Thangka artist will also be on-site as an artist in residence for August 23 & 24 from 12:00 -- 5:00 p.m.

Fundraising Concert by International Pianist Tamás Érdi
Thursday, November 6, 2008 7:30 p.m. at W. Ross Macdonald School Auditorium
Tamás Érdi, a classical pianist from Budapest, Hungary returns for a second engagement at the W. Ross Macdonald School in Brantford. Blind from birth, Érdi has performed piano concerts around the world including Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Centre with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and in Florida with the Vienna Mozart Orchestra.
