Throughout the calendar year, Glenhyrst stages annual events, special events and artist events to help build awareness and support of the art gallery and the arts in our community. The Gallery's annual fundraising events include the popular A Taste of Glenhyrst and Beaujolais Nouveau et Arts. Special Events occur at various points through the year and may include Appraisal Days or Bus Trips. Artist Events is a two-fold category offering opportunities to artists for professional development and networking to programmes by artists/art professionals including lectures and artist talks.

J.C. Heywood: Lecture and Slide Show
> January 18, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.
This exhibition is a survey of seventy-five works made between 1974 and 2004, by master print maker, Carl Heywood, organized by the Burnaby Art Gallery, BC. Heywood experimented with the print media to transform and bridge image with new technology. This assemblage of works allows for an expanded understanding of his development in relation to Heywood's works that have been collected for Glenhyrst's Permanent Collection.

SUMMER ART CAMP
Thank you for a wonderful Summer of Art camp. Glenhyrst’s one of a kind camp provided technical art instruction, historical reference to art styles and medium, gallery visits and outdoor experiences for over 150 children ages 4 through 14. Our instructors were Jennifer Galbraith, Summer Art Camp Co-ordinator, Senior Camp Instructors Brittany Wensveen and Andrea Skelly, and Junior Camp instructors Kate Ball and Greg Miller.  Summer Camp was made possible through the granting agencies of the Brant Community Foundation, City of Brantford, Service Canada, Canada Summer Jobs, and Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations.

A special thanks to the Lorne & Elsie Hankinson Charitable Trust Foundation and Millard, and Rouse & Rosebrugh LLP for their generous support of the scholarship program that allowed children who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend a week of camp this summer.
