Throughout the calendar year, Glenhyrst stages annual events, special events and artist events to help build awareness and support of the art gallery and the arts in our community. The Gallery’s annual fundraising events include the popular A Taste of Glenhyrst. Special Events occur at various points through the year and may include Appraisal Days or Bus Trips. Artist Events is a two-fold category offering opportunities to artists for professional development and networking to programmes by artists/art professionals including lectures and artist talks.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gallery. With our new financial year our AGM comes earlier this year. It is a valuable opportunity to meet, vote for Board members, and become familiar with Glenhyrst activities and decisions towards a productive organization. Everyone is welcome and any person or family holding membership for at least 30 days will be eligible to vote. The agenda will be available on the Gallery website before the meeting.
PechaKucha
PechaKucha is happening at Glenhyrst on Thursday February 23 at 7:30pm. Engage in the creative process of seven artists as they present their works and techniques in seven minutes each. The presenters include: Cristina Zanella, Robert Achtemichuk, Ian McLean, Jack Jackowetz, Dave Hind, Aliki Mikulich and Shelley Niro. This is a free event and light refreshments will be served.
Salon Concert Series – Marko Feri
The Guitar Society of Brantford will be hosting an “Intimate Evening in the Art Gallery with European Classical Guitar Virtuoso, Marko Feri” on Sunday March 4th at 7:30pm. The event will be taking place in the main gallery of Glenhyrst, and refreshments will be served by The Golden Teapot.
Tickets are $20.00 each and can be purchased at Glenhyrst (cash or checks only), or you can buy them online at www.theguitarsocietyofbrantford.com.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Glenhyrst is looking for volunteers for the Family Arts Day Festival Committee.
Family Arts Day will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2012, from 11 to 4pm.
