Saturday Art Studio

Location: The Cottage at Glenhyrst
Saturdays – April 7 to June 16, 2018
Duration: 8 weeks
No classes April 14, April 28, May 19 (Victoria Day weekend)
Time: Junior 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (4 to 6 years old)
All Ages 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

An introduction to everything. Saturday Studios are a chance to experiment and explore a variety of different art practices. Every week a new medium will be discovered and new art making techniques will be learned. From painting to printmaking, sculpture and textiles; this is a wonderful chance to sample and discover yourself as an artist. Come and explore the many wonderful and different art-making processes.

Cartoons and Comics

Location: Glenhyrst Main Gallery
Ages: 7 to 12
Sundays – April 8 to June 10, 2018
Duration: 8 weeks

Time: 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

This course is for kids who love cartoons and/or comics, and are ready to creatively discover the medium. Students will design cartoon characters & develop layouts for cartoon strips & books.

Illustration Studio in the Gallery

Location: Glenhyrst Main Gallery
Ages: 13 to 17
Sundays – April 8 to June 10, 2018
Duration: 8 weeks

Time: 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Fees: Non-mem: $100, Mem: $80

For senior students interested in working in comics and other sequential art mediums. With a curriculum featuring drawing instruction to build up skills, design and layout techniques, introduction to basic scripting, and methods of creating and refining their own characters. Students are welcome to participate in the daily assignments, or use the studio time and space to work on their portfolio or their personal projects (such as comics, graphic novels etc.) with professionally guided assistance.

Registration Information

Payment
Class size is limited, so register early to avoid disappointment. Pre-registration is required for all classes and is on a first-come, first served basis with full payment. Registrations can be made in person, by phone, fax or mail.

Cheque, cash, debit, VISA and MasterCard payments are accepted. NOTE: 13% HST must now be added to all Adult Class Fees. A $20 charge is applied to NSF cheques.

Refunds/Cancellations
Occasionally a class will not reach its full enrollment and must be canceled, in which case a class refund will be issued. Otherwise, class refunds are issued for medical reasons only with presentation of a doctor’s certificate. A $10 administration fee applies.

Contact the Gallery if you are interested in a class that has already started as we may have spaces available.

All classes and workshops take place in the Coach House Studios unless stated otherwise.

Become a gallery member and save on class/workshop fees. Junior $20, Senior $20, Individual $30, Family $40.

Email address of participates are normally forwarded to the instructor to facilitate communication and changes in class dates in unusual circumstances such as extreme weather etc. If you would NOT like your email address shared, please notify Glenhyrst in advance of your class.
