2019 Camp Policies

 

REGISTRATION

Registration will not be taken by email or over the telephone. Please visit the camp’s online registration page or come to the Gallery in person to register your child(ren) for camp.

NSF cheques are subject to a $20 service charge.

MEDICAL CARE

Health and safety is a primary concern. Please advise us at camp drop-off if there are any changes to your child’s medical information. Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant reserves the right to refuse admission to any camper with a suspected contagious condition (i.e. fever, chicken pox, lice/nits).

Intimate care: All Junior campers must be fully toilet trained.

LOST & FOUND

Please label all of your camper’s belongings. We do not assume responsibility for lost or damaged items. Lost and found will be held for one month following camp.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

Cell phones, iPods, portable gaming devices, jewelry, your favourite white shirt or other valuable items.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
It is the policy of Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant to accept cancellations, and provide a refund, only for medical reasons (a medical certificate must be presented).

Once a session has started, there are no refunds for situations beyond our control (i.e. blackouts, hazardous weather). The camp reserves the right to refuse enrolment or dismiss a camper at its sole discretion. In the event of a dismissal, there will be no refund of any portion of the registration fees.

WHAT TO BRING CHECKLIST

  • water bottle
  • peanut-free lunch and snacks
  • clothing appropriate for art activities and outdoor play
  • change of clothing for Junior campers
  • hat for sun protection
  • sunscreen
  • medication and instructions (if applicable)
  • inspect repellent

Camp Safety Policy

Glenhyrst Camp is a time for great memories, new friends and FUN! To help ensure a positive camp experience for everyone, we would appreciate it if you would read over the following Code of Conduct with your child(ren), prior to camp.

CAMP BEHAVIOUR ACTION PLAN

Mild-Moderate
– Rude, talking back– Not following the rules of the game
– Disobeying
– Not listening to Leader’s instructions
– Name calling

Action: Will receive 1-2 warnings, depending upon the severity of their actions and will have a letter sent home if the behavior interferes with the safety or enjoyment of other campers.

Severe
– Bullying– Any violent act which harms another camper or staff
– Inappropriate slurs or racial remarks
– Degrading or non-welcoming behavior
– Harassing others
– Any mild-moderate recurring events
– Stealing, kicking, biting, punching or swearing
– Vandalism of equipment inside or outside the buildings

Action: Parents will be called immediately and child will be sent home and not return to the program until further notice.
