On February 23, the Coach House will come alive with the music of Brooklyn Doran, Mary-Kate Edwards and Saffron! Music starts at 7:30, cover is suggested $10 but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Brooklyn Doran

Brooklyn Doran is an indie folk songstress, originally from Kenora, Ontario who is now based in Toronto. The singer-songwriter’s music presents a unique and harmonious blend of traditional folk and contemporary pop. Her live show weaves song and storytelling, from humorous anecdotes to emotional ballads, to delightfully folk-infused love songs.

Mary-Kate Edwards

Mary-Kate Edwards is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario. The child of a piano teacher and storyteller, the marriage of storytelling and music is instinctual to her. Her music is dynamic and emotional, striving to write about feelings difficult to describe. Mary-Kate released her debut EP, Blueberry Pie in March 2017, it is available on iTunes, Spotify and more.

Saffron is a songwriter who sings and plays the mandolin, mandola, octave mandolin and mandocello. The music she writes mostly starts as poetry, and music is a vehicle to communicate the text in a strong, raw and emotive way. Her music sits where emotion and intellect, intersect. She was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Fall Songwriter’s Getaway in Orillia with the Toronto Songwriting School, based on the merit of her song Introspection. Saffron released Introspection as her first single November 10th, and she published her first work of poetry in September.
