Michelle comes from a conceptual art background and uses these skills to create concepts, ideas and workshops that fill your needs. Michelle is also an Ontario Certified Teacher and uses her knowledge to meet curriculum standards.


Meet the Teacher

Michelle Cogger is a practing artist from Brantford, ON with a huge passion for experimenting, discovery and artistc adventures. Michelle completed a Bachleor of Arts Honours Program at the University of Guelph with a specialization in Art History and Studio Art. It is there that her love for conceptual art grew, as did her thirst for knowledge and discovering history. Michelle continued her education at the University of Western Ontario. Here she gained her Bachelor of Education with an honours specialization in art. Michelle works year round at Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant as the Education Coordinator. She teaches children and adults alike in a variety of mediums. Michelle practices her art daily and loves nothing more then learning new things and working with her hands.




Glenhyrst provides educational tours focusing on art and the purpose of art in society. Artistic techniques and the creative process are also discussed based on the exhibiting artist. We also touch on careers in the arts and the variety of directions one can take in the future for artists. These tours are wonderful for art lovers of all kinds, and are sure to spark inspiration and invoke conversations of all kinds.


Learn about the extensive history of Glenhyrst Art Gallery and the man who built this incredible building. Explore the unknown history of Glenhyrst and the many people who lived and worked on the land prior to being purchased by Edmund Cockshutt. This tour will offer glances at our current art exhibit but puts more of a focus on the home, history and heritage of Glenhyrst Art Gallery. Our history tour is wonderful for those who are curious about the past, who love a good mystery and are into the hunt of the unknown!

Tour Guide

Yvonne Morrison-Miller comes from a lengthy career in advertising, marketing and design which began with an education in art. Her career training began as a student of Illustration at Sheridan College and blossomed into a career as a freelance designer, creative director and now Tour Guide and Programs Coordinator at Glenhyrst Art Gallery. She is very involved in her own family’s school experience as a member of School Council and has worked extensively with children as a volunteer.
